This year six attorneys are running for a seat on the Judicial Tenure Commission. Your vote matters more than ever in this race. You should have received an electronic ballot for the 2017 SBM elections via e-mail. If you don't have an e-mail address on file, you will receive a paper ballot. You have until 11:59 p.m. on June 15 to cast your votes (or get your ballot in the mail to be counted).
The JTC candidates are James Burdick, of Bloomfield Hills, who concentrates his practice in complex criminal litigation and healthcare licensing, discipline and reinstatement; Mark Koroi, of Plymouth, a general practitioner with an emphasis in litigation; Gerald Padilla, of Birmingham, who has practiced litigation in most of the state's circuit courts and is a neutral case evaluator in Wayne, Macomb and Oakland counties; Julia Perkins, of Novi, who represents clients in divorce, child custody, child support and parenting time matters; and Jill Roberts, of East Lansing, an assistant director for career development at Michigan State University College of Law Career Services Office.
