We told you about this guy in 2010 -- the jailhouse lawyer who has had two cert petitions accepted by the U.S. Supreme Court. When Shon Hopwood was released from prison after serving 10 years of a 13-year sentence he started thinking about going to law school (including the University of Michigan). So, how'd that go? In a word, great. Now a 3L at the University of Washington Law School, Hopwood has accepted an offer to clerk for Janice Rogers Brown on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia circuit. Today, NPR had a story and interview with both Hopwood and the judge who sentenced him. Don't miss it. You'll feel better for getting to know both Hopwood and Judge Kopf, whose blog Hercules and the Umpire SBM Blog has previously admired without making the connection to Hopwood.
