My laptop at home has a pretty good idea of who I am -- a middle class Midwestern professional female of a certain age. Thanks to cookies, it knows what consumer items to tempt me with and what news stories I'm interested in. My PC at work, however, has it all wrong. Here my web surfing is confined to law-related news stories and research, and guess what? The pop-up ads are for testosterone supplements (especially prominent on Volokh Conspiracy). I'm not sure what that says, but it can't be good...
