Attention Fans of Anatomy of a Murder

The fans of the classic Anatomy of a Murder are legion, but they are particularly plentiful and fervent in Michigan, as the book was authored by a Michigan Supreme Court justice and the movie was filmed in Marquette, Michigan. So SBM Blog thinks it's important to let you all know that Lansing, Michigan-based filmakers Claire Wiley and David C. Jones are creating a documentary film about what happened in 1959, when Hollywood director Otto Preminger and his crew invaded Marquette, Michigan to film the classic courtroom drama, "Anatomy of a Murder." The documentary, called "Anatomy of 'Anatomy,'" has hit a funding roadblock, as the filmmakers can't afford to purchase licensing rights to use footage and music from the original film in their documentary.

The duo have set up a Kickstarter to raise the money to finish their film. Kickstarter is a website that allows entrepreneurs, including artists, to set up online fundraisers for their projects. Supporters can bid a minimum of $1 to support the artist of their choice. But there is a catch -- if the artist fails to raise the entire amount they set out to raise, they don't get a penny, and the supporters' credit cards are not charged. 

Wiley and Jones need to raise $25,000 within the next 46 days. If you're an"Anatomy of a Murder fan  check out the "Anatomy of 'Anatomy'" Kickstarter and consider contributing to their cause.

Those who donate at least $15 to the project can opt to have their names listed in the credits of the documentary. Those who give at least $500 to the project can be listed as executive producers in the film's credits.
