Governor Snyder today signed SB 652, which shifts Court of Claims cases from the Ingham County circuit court to four judges of the Court of Appeals, and expands Court of Claims jurisdiction. The bill moved through the Legislature at the maximum speed limit, and was enacted on a straight party line vote with the majority rejecting all amendments to the Senate-passed bill. But Gongwer News (sub. req.) reports that the Governor has said that a trailer bill is being prepared to allow current cases in the Court of Claims to stay where they are in the Ingham Circuit instead of being heard by the newly appointed Court of Claims judges.
