Federal public defenders offices have already experienced substantial cuts due to sequestration. This week the effects on private attorneys appointed under the Criminal Justice Act -- CJA panel lawyers -- were announced. They will take a $15 per hour pay cut starting on September first and have up to four weeks of their pay for fiscal year 2014 delayed until fiscal year 2015.
