A Louisiana landfill owner under investigation by the U.S. Attorney's office in New Orleans has filed a lawsuit against an assistant U.S. attorney who, he claims, has posted nearly 600 defamatory comments at Nola.com about him, including aspects of the criminal case, under the pseudonym Henry L. Mencken1951. The owner says that he identified the anonymous blogger as a prosecutor by using an expert who is a forensic linguist and former FBI profiler. U.S. Attorney Jim Letten held a press conference late last week to say that one of his top assistants, Salvador Perricone, admitted using the pseudonym to blog about the landfill owner, among others, and to discuss open cases. He has been recused from handling all matters discussed in the Nola.com comments.
