Last week we posted on the ins and outs of the unauthorized practice of law lawsuit brought against LegalZoom in Missouri, scheduled for trial in U.S. District Court yesterday. See "The Unauthorized Practice of Law and Legal Zoom". This week the news is that the lawsuit has been settled. AP reports that LegalZoom has announced an "agreement in principle" that contains no admission of wrongdoing and allows LegalZoom to continue to offer services to Missouri residents. According to the story, an attorney for the plaintiffs said that the settlement involves compensation for Missouri customers and changes to how LegalZoom operates.
