Perhaps it's not surprising that Above the Law would praise this new crime novel, because, after all, Above the Law is actually mentioned on pp 217-218. But Alan Dershowitz, who should know from crime (he was an O.J. Simpson legal advisor, and Claus von Bülow's appellate lawyer in the successful appeal of Bulow's conviction for the attempted murder of his wife) also loved the book. What we love is that the author, federal prosecutor Allison Leotta, is the daughter of Michigan lawyer Alan Harnisch, grew up in Michigan, and graduated from Michigan State before she went to Harvard Law School. And that the lead character, Anna Curtis, is also a Michigan native. Enjoy.
